Before switching phones, it's recommended to back up your database (e.g., via the "Share" function to a cloud service). After installing the app on your new phone, you can import the database and enter your password to continue using it seamlessly.
Important: Make sure to remember your password – without the correct password, your database cannot be decrypted.
As long as you have a backup (e.g., in a cloud), you can restore your data. However, you must still know your password. Install the app on your new device, import the database(s) from your backup, and you're good to go.
If biometric login is still available, you may be able to access your data. The password can then be found in the settings. However, if the app is reinstalled or biometric login fails, the data cannot be recovered without the password. Please store it safely – a password manager is highly recommended.
Some password managers only offer to save login data that belongs to an online account (for example username + password for a website).
In this app the password is not an account login, but the actual encryption key for your local database.
Because of this, the system does not always recognize it as a password that can be stored.
You should always keep your password stored safely elsewhere (for example in a password manager or written down). Without it, your encrypted data cannot be recovered.
No, the app allows you to categorize flights by aircraft type within a single database. This affects PDF exports and totals by aircraft and pilot role (PIC, DUAL, etc.). If you prefer, you can still manage separate logbooks by creating multiple databases within the app.
You can export your electronic logbook as a PDF file at any time. The export includes all entries and official endorsements with signatures.
Yes. Changes are tracked securely. When you edit a flight, the original is marked as “corrected” and a new version is created. Only the corrected entry is shown in lists and exports. Deleted flights are marked as “deleted” and kept as empty placeholders with their original ID. You can review the full history under “Data Integrity” in the app settings.
Only manually via backup
Yes, flights can be filtered and sorted by date, aircraft, role, or other criteria for easier navigation and analysis.
The app is designed to meet common standards and best practices for flight logbooks. However, acceptance depends on local regulations, so please check with your national aviation authority. The app has received acceptance from Luftamt Süd (Germany).
Just like with a paper logbook, you can create a new logbook in the app at any time and carry over the totals from your previous flights. This way, none of your flight times are lost, and you always have a complete overview of your total hours.
However, with an electronic logbook there is no need to ever start a new one – it will never be “full.”
